Summer Fun at Ed Debevic’s

summer

If you haven’t kicked off your summer with a burger and shake from Ed Debevic’s, shame on you. Our digs have recently been dubbed a hot spot for families with children in the Windy City from USA Today. Need an afternoon out of the house? Stop in at Ed’s. We really don’t want you to overstay your welcome, but your kids will enjoy our sassy service and delicious food. Bring the whole family to eat and get out!

Looking for more kid-friendly activities for your summer in the city? We’ve got you covered. Besides our great menu, we really do know how to have fun. Take a look at the summer activities you won’t want to miss in Chicago, and stop in to see us after a day of sightseeing.

Kidzapalooza

It’s like Lollapalooza for kids–what could be better? Kidzapalooza is Chicago’s family-friendly 3-day concert for your little rockstars. Featuring bands like Play Date, School of Rock and Pretty Little Demons, your kids will have an all-out great time jamming out to their favorite tunes. Kidzapalooza runs from August 1-3 in Grant Park. Don’t miss out. After a full day of music (and before nap time), stop at Ed’s to try our new Chorizo Burger. You won’t regret it.

Dragon Boat Race for Literacy

Take the kids to explore Chicago’s Chinatown and take in the neighborhood’s annual Dragon Boat Race on June 28. The event takes place at Ping Tom Memorial Park from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Watch as these traditional boats race through the water and also enjoy games and family activities. On the plus side, all proceeds support literacy and cultural programs in Chicago.

12th Annual Run for Gus

Give back and get some exercise with your whole family on July 24. Beginning at 7 p.m at Montrose Harbor, the 2014 Run for Gus is dedicated to raising money for pediatric brain tumor awareness. According to the Lurie Children’s Hospital,

“Gus Evangelides lost his courageous battle with a brain tumor just three months shy of his second birthday. His family and friends established the Gus Foundation in 1995 to honor his life by raising funds to support pediatric brain tumor research. Run for Gus carries on this tradition.”

Choose between a 5K run or a 1 mile walk with your family to support the cause. Bring your entire team to Ed’s after the race for shakes!

Rudeness aside, we can’t wait to see you and your family this summer. Stop in, eat at Ed’s and enjoy all of the fun activities that our great city has to offer.
