Lunch Near Navy Pier & the Magnificent Mile

So you did Navy Pier. You rode the Ferris wheel, you took the boat picture, you walked the whole thing twice — and now everybody's hungry and nobody can agree on where to eat. Congratulations. You found the answer.

Ed Debevic's is a 15-minute walk from Navy Pier and a block and a half off the Magnificent Mile, at 159 E Ohio St in Streeterville. We're Chicago's world-famous retro 50s diner, which means two things: real diner food done right, and servers who will absolutely make fun of your order. Lovingly. Mostly.

What's for Lunch

Our lunch menu is classic American diner, full stop: juicy burgers, the Outrageous Fries (cheese fries that will outshine your entire table), Ed's Mom's Meatloaf, Chicago-style hot dogs — this is Chicago, we take those seriously — big salads for the one person in your group who "isn't that hungry" (they'll steal your fries), and hand-spun milkshakes and malts that are worth the walk on their own.

Still in breakfast mode? We serve all-day breakfast too, because rules are for other restaurants. Browse the full menu before you come, or don't — surprises build character.

Why Tourists Love Us (And We Tolerate Them)

Lunch here isn't just lunch, it's a show. Our servers are actors, and between refills you might get a song, a dance on the counter, or a perfectly-timed insult about your hat. It's the most fun you can have between museum stops, and it's very kid-friendly — kids get teased gently and get their own kids menu.

Getting Here from Navy Pier

Walk west on Grand Ave (or Illinois St), cross under Lake Shore Drive, and we're at Ohio & St. Clair — about 15 minutes on foot, faster if someone in your group is properly hungry. From the Magnificent Mile, we're a block and a half east of Michigan Ave. Check hours & directions — we're open 8 AM to 9 PM every day, so lunch runs as long as you need it to.

Groups welcome. Big family? Tour group? School trip that got out of hand? See our group packages. Staying downtown for the evening? Come back for dinner and a show in Streeterville.

Eat and Get Out! — but seriously, come in first. Reserve a Table.
